It has been a long time since I've posted about Tyler and Gaby's "happenings," so here we go.
Gaby is now 3 and a half months old. She has finally gotten over (for the most part) colic and reflux and is a much happier baby. Some of her stats:
-She is sleeping through the night!! She goes to bed around 8:00 or 8:30 and usually wakes up around 6:00 to eat, then goes back to sleep until 8:30, sometimes 9:30. She's like me. Loves sleeping in.
-At her two-month visit to the doctor, she weighed 11 lbs, and measured 21 inches. She's around the 50th percentile in all areas, and looked great!
-She's starting to "talk" quite a bit. It's so fun to hear her cooing and blowing raspberries in her cradle after I've put her down for a nap. She's such a happy baby when she's feeling well, but if she's mad, she lets us know it!
-She loves playing with hanging toys now. She can sit under the singing bear toy we have for an hour, just grabbing at the toys and talking to Mr. Bear, as we call him.
-She loves getting her diaper changed! I never see such big smiles as the ones I see when I'm changing her! I remember Ty at this age screaming because the wipes were cold. Gaby doesn't mind at all.
-She's started scooting backward and rolling halfway over. I'm sure it won't be long until she can get where she wants to go somehow.
-She's still almost completely bald. She doesn't really like having headbands or bows on her head. I would really like to get her ears pierced, as is the custom in Mexico (I had mine done when I was a month old), but my husband says no. One day soon I will win this battle... :)
And now for Tyler. Tyler is two. Enough said? :) He is growing so quickly and I can't believe the things he is learning.
-He talks a lot now! We still don't understand everything, but his vocabulary has really exploded!
-He knows all his capital letters and loves to point them out everywhere we go. He doesn't recognize all lowercase letters, so that's what we're working on now.
-He's so interested in reading. He loves to sit down with a bunch of books and pretend he's reading them. He runs his finger along the words and tells himself the story.
-Ty is not potty-trained yet, but he is showing more interest. He can pull his own pants and diaper off (which he does quite frequently). It's amazing we haven't had any accidents on the carpet yet! The other day I put him in his room to take a nap. Half an hour later I hear whimpering and so I go in. He's behind the rocking chair, diaper no where to be found, with both of his legs in one pant leg, and he's totally stuck. I almost rolled on the floor laughing!
-Ty sleeps in a big bed now. He figured out how to climb out of his crib a few months ago, and so we decided it was time. It took a while to get him to stay in bed, but he's great now. We bought a CARS bed tent so that it would be fun at first, and he loved that. Then he broke the tent. So no more tent, but he still loves the big bed.
-He loves to mimic what we say when we're on the phone, and then he'll get his play phone and pretend to have the same conversation. Here's how they usually go: "Hello, Grandma. Hi. Oooh yeah. Mmmhmmm. (laugh) Oh, ok. Bye bye." It's so cute to listen to.
-Ty pulls full-blown temper tantrums. LOTS of fun. When he does it I just have to ignore him, let him scream it all out, and after a couple minutes he's back to his happy self. So weird! I swear it's just like PMS.
-He still loves playing ball and wrestling with his dad. He also loves watching basketball and football. He gets so excited and starts cheering whenever something happens (good or bad). I was sad he wasn't awake the other night to see Sundiata save the game for the Jazz. He would have freaked out, because we sure did!
